Dyeing yarn allows me to indulge my love for both colour and yarn.

I have always been drawn to vivid colours and how they can lift moods and provide confidence to project to the outside world.

I hand dye a wide variety of colours, in small batches on different weights and fibres.  However if there is a specific colour you are looking for please get in touch.

Our standard base is a superwash merino wool and nylon, however we also stock a variety of wool blends including British Blue Faced Leicester, alpaca, yak, silk, mohair and our own blend of Corriedale and rose.

As I love the area the company name is based on an iconic rock formation in Portknockie on the Moray Firth coast of Scotland, UK, near where I grew up.

Knitting and tunisian crochet has provided an opportunity to take time away from technology and bring some mindfulness to this every busy world.

Tools of the Trade

I have a selection of KnitPro and HiyaHiya knitting needles, crochet hooks and accessories as well as project bags for organising your current make.

If you need stitch markers to keep track of your pattern, then I stock both bulb shaped removeable markers and hand made semi-precious beaded ones.

Sport Weight

This gorgeous 100% Superwash Merino is a 3 ply construction which is soft against the skin. It is lovely to work with and with 300m in each 100g skein is knits up quick and also has a crisp stitch definition.
